About

PlayItYoSelf is a YouTube channel for people who want to play a piece, not just hear it. This site is where you try one first.

What you get

Each song comes in three versions, easy, medium and hard. Lessons follow the same nine steps, from hearing the song to playing a hand of it yourself. Here in the browser you can slow any version down, loop a few bars, or let the song wait for you.

How the versions are made

Hard is the source edition. Medium and easy only take notes away from it, and a checker rejects anything two hands cannot manage at that level. Nothing is added to a classic, so no version is richer than the original. Our own pieces are written level by level.

No account, no cookies and no tracking. The falling notes here are drawn by the same program that makes our films, live in your browser. Write to us at hello@playityoself.com.
